Hanken & SSE Executive Education is seeking company partners in Finland to support the integration program Business Lead 2018 for educated refugees and immigrants – this is an opportunity to act

Helsinki, Finland 31 January 2018 – All companies impact society with their choices. We offer you and your company an opportunity to make a move with true impact. We are looking for company partners to our integration program Business Lead 2018, which offers a fast-track into Finnish work life for unemployed educated refugees and immigrants through education, training and employment. Companies can enable the program by offering a 2-month internship or by contributing to the program fee. Business Lead 2018 is delivered as part of the pioneering Integration Social Impact Bond (SIB) project. Participating in the project are Epiqus, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland, FIM, TE-Services, Sitra among others.

The Business Lead program benefits all parties involved; employers, refugees and immigrants as well as society at large. Business Lead includes live- and online learning, mentoring and a 2-month internship with a company in Finland. Central program application criteria are a university degree, English language skills and at least 2 years of relevant work experience. In 2018 the program will be offered in two rounds, the first starting in May 2018 and the second in September 2018.

As a result of the previous two programs during 2016 and 2017, nearly 40 % of the participants either found a place to work or study immediately after completing the program.

We have been very successful with the integration program so far, even on a global scale, and recognize that diversity in leadership and true social responsibility are cornerstones of any successful business today”, says Marc Hinnenberg, CEO of Hanken & SSE Executive Education. “Partner in the program to make a true business impact.”

“The program is not only a success in terms of integration, but also an important statement of the core values of Hanken and all the businesses taking part in the program”, says Karen Spens, Rector of Hanken School of Economics.

In Business Lead 2017 the partner companies included Accenture, Agency Leroy, Fennovoima, Finance Finland, Fiskars, Folksam, Fortum, Futurice, Grundfos, Hedman Attorneys, HKScan, IBM, Kesko, Kone, Lumi, Lähitapiola, Miltton, OP, Outotec, Pöyry, PWC, Ramirent, Supercell, Svenska Handelshögskolan, Technology Industries of Finland, UPM, Wärtsilä, WSP, YIT and Ålandsbanken.
