Controller Performance Program

Program Overview

The Controller Performance Program is a benchmarking and development program for business controllers.

Controllers today have complex responsibilities that include a broad management perspective.

The program widens the participants’ understanding of business management as well as the increasing importance of digitalization and analytics. The objective of the program is to support the transition of the controlling function to becoming a true business partner and value generating part of the business.

Although many companies face similar issues, there is a lack of forums for high-level competence development and benchmarking for business controllers. The Controller Performance Program brings together companies in non-competing industries, who together with Hanken & SSE design a program to meet the specific needs of their controllers.

The program supports the professional development of the business controllers beyond the accounting specialist role.

Program Content & Structure

The Controller Performance Program 2017 is now delivered with a new design.

The program is structured around 4 modules of 3 days run over 6 months in total. Module locations in Helsinki, Stockholm and Tallinn.

Every module is built around benchmarking and learning from experiences of others. Consistent themes are the changing role of the controller function, how the finance function can add value to the business operations, effective communication skills and how to organize and lead finance entities.

The program days involve systematic comparison and benchmarking against how business controlling supports and reports on core enterprise processes together with world-class faculty.
